Stylist Nivaldo Thierry recorded the year of National Independence in his new hat collection, entitled “1975”, to perpetuate the achievements and ideals of the men who fought for Mozambique to be free.

Samora Machel is one of the sources of inspiration for this collection launched on the 24th of June this year, at Cais 66, in Maputo city. Nivaldo Thierry decided to pay tribute to this man with a strong personality, who, during the act of proclamation of our independence, brought with him an iconic hat, which was part of his uniform.

The event was attended by prominent figures from our society, with emphasis on politicians, musicians, models, digital influencers, communicators and lovers of the work performed by the designer.

For Nivaldo Thierry, the collection comes at a time when the Covid-19 pandemic requires an additional capacity for reinvention on the part of Mozambican stylists.

“The raw material for the preparation of our pieces is not national and the acquisition cost remains high, so we have to be resilient”, he stressed.

Nivaldo Thierry is a brand that emerged 12 years ago, right after participating in the largest and most prestigious Mozambican fashion event called Mozambique Fashion Week.
